2. Purposes and Legal Bases

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and, consequently, the Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG) protect personal data in particular. This is data relating to natural persons.

As a matter of principle, we only collect and use our users’ personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functional website as well as our content and services, and to design and improve our offering as needed. The legal basis for this is Section 25 (2) sentence 2 TTDSG or Art. 32 GDPR.

If processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, and the interests, fundamental rights, and fundamental freedoms of the data subject do not prevail, then Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.

3. Recipients

As a matter of principle, we do not pass your data on to third parties. Processors and service companies commissioned by us are not third parties in this sense. To provide the technical infrastructure, we use service providers who support us in designing our websites and carrying out our services, and who may thereby have access to your personal data.

4. Storage Period

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies and no statutory retention periods preclude deletion. Data will also be blocked or deleted when a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned provisions expires.

5. Log Files

With each access or attempted access, at least the following data is collected in a log file and stored for 7 days: access, device, and (where applicable) location data; IP address; name of the file and website accessed; type and version of the transmission protocol used; referrer; date and time of access; amount of data transferred; processing time; notification of whether the access was successful; encryption method; content returned; notification of why an access may have failed; operating system and browser software of your computer.

The processing is carried out on the basis of Section 25 (2) sentence 2 TTDSG and Art. 32 or Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR to provide the website, to ensure system stability, to ensure data and operational security, and to implement legal requirements.

6. Security

We take all technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorized access, and misuse. Your information is transmitted in encrypted form. This protects the communication between you and our web server and helps to prevent misuse of the data by third parties. For encryption, we use TLS (Transport Layer Security).

7. Data Subject Rights

You may exercise your rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability regarding your stored data at any time, provided the requirements under Art. 15 et seq. GDPR are met. You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
